Job Description

Work on high profile projects for public sector clients such as Tourisme Québec, Princeton University, OCAD U, and the Government of Canada who are in need of innovative solutions. There’s a lot to learn and a lot of opportunities. If you’re up to the challenge, we’d love to hear from you.

In your role as UI/UX Designer, you will be expected to:

Understand client needs by participating in or conducting workshops, performing user research, and conducting usability testing
Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of designers, developers, and strategists to understand technology requirements and business objectives
Understand product specifications and user psychology
Staying up to date with design/industry trends, best practices, and latest technologies
Generate clear ideas and concepts in tandem with the creative team
Produce personas, site maps, wire frames, mock-ups, and other design deliverables through user research and data
Find creative ways to solve UX problems (e.g. usability, findability)
Present completed ideas and prototypes to clients and team members

Requirements

What kind of skillset do you need to be successful in your role within the Evolving community?

At least 5 years of agency experience
A strong portfolio with examples of client work in the digital space
Meticulous attention to detail and an expert eye for typography and visual hierarchy
Great interpersonal and communication skills
A passion for design and conceptual thinking
Intimate knowledge of Figma, Sketch, or inVision and other comparable tools
Demonstrable graphic and digital design skills, with a skill set that encompasses UI and UX design
Solid understanding of interaction design principles, usability best practices, and responsive design
Understanding of branding, design systems, and accessibility best practices

Bonus for:

Ability to communicate in French
Experience with motion design, photography, or video editing
Working knowledge of HTML and CSS
Experience writing and developing content strategies
