Job Description

As a Staff Researcher at PandaDoc, you will play an integral role within our Research team, assuming a crucial position in our organization’s strategic landscape. You will contribute to continuous discovery efforts and lead strategic projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in refining our research processes and operations and elevating team performance–from your fellow researchers to Product Designers and Product Managers. Your expertise in persuasion, mentoring, and strategic thinking will position you as a key advisor both internally and cross-functionally.

In this role, you will:
Partner with design, product, marketing, and sales colleagues to understand business needs, design appropriate research studies to generate user-focused insights, and translate those insights into actionable recommendations that inform innovation and execution.
Design and conduct user research studies, including surveys, in-depth interviews, field studies, focus groups, and concept/prototype testing.
Work with other researchers, organizations (e.g., data analytics), and executive leaders to create comprehensive and coordinated research strategies that triangulate data from different sources/methods to develop recommendations.
Deliver compelling research findings with clear recommendations that shift the focus to our customers and drive product strategy.
Engage with stakeholders to answer strategic business questions, fostering alignment and understanding across the Product organization.
Advocate for the user throughout the product development process, ensuring user needs are a top priority.
Lead the planning and execution of continuous user research activities, including user interviews, surveys, usability studies, and competitive analysis. Conduct in-depth analysis of research findings to uncover insights and opportunities.
About you:
Over 6 years of research experience, preferably in a similar industry, focusing on B2B SaaS companies with a strong emphasis on research and product-led growth. Background in research, psychology, statistics, human-computer interaction, interaction design, or a related field.
Deep understanding of common and emerging research methods and data analytics, with the ability to independently create and execute multi-method research roadmaps for large-scale, complex projects with high levels of ambiguity or complexity.
Ability to analyze existing research from multiple internal and external sources to arrive at a clearly articulated, informed opinion.
Experience advocating for customers’ needs within cross-functional teams by delivering effective written reports, engaging presentations, crisp summaries, interactive workshops, and visual artifacts.
Proficient at building trust and confidence with stakeholders and pushing back to support better outcomes for users or customers. Can demonstrate consistent use of UX research to influence decision-makers to change product strategies and roadmaps.
Consistent experience of amplifying and maturing UX practices through advocacy and thought leadership across an organization, industry, or academic discipline.
Demonstrated growth mindset, adaptability, and perseverance in solving challenging problems.
Passion for guiding and supporting junior colleagues, as well as individuals who may not have a background in research, by sharing knowledge, providing guidance, and fostering professional development
Advanced verbal and written English skills.
Bonus: Experience in research operations, knowledge management, and scaling research
